Hello and Welcome
My name is Kylie Faison and I am the artist behind this website/ artwork. As you have probably already noticed I have a love and passion for animals and art.
My love for art all started when I would pick up random trash off the ground as a kid and turn it all into sculptures or robots. From that moment on I have continued to hone my artist ability and play around with different art modalities. Now I love working with watercolors, clay and screen printing.
Fast forward to 2014 when I created my Facebook page- Kylie Faison Art- to start sharing my artwork publicly. Kylie Faison Art continues to slowly blossom into my own small business where I am able to create daily, share my artwork with others and create custom pet portraits that I am proud of.
The Other Side of the Artist
I also rescued a squirrel!
I am a huge advocate for animals. I began volunteering in the rescue community in 2013. While in New York during the summers I worked with families who had dogs that needed supplies. Most of these dogs would live lives chained outdoors year round. During the school year I would switch from hands on volunteering to donating art knowledge by creating flyers for rescue events.
During the summer of 2017, I began painting pet portraits with watercolor and have since worked with shelters and rescues by donating portraits of animals in other rescues and shelters care to raise money and promote the existence of these homeless animals.
Starting January 2022 and for every month during 2022 I am reaching out and working with various animal rescues and shelters to once again paint animal in need of forever homes. If you know an animal rescue or shelter that would like to partner up, send me an e-mail: Kyliefaisonart@gmail.com
The Other Other Side of the Artist
I am also a Math Teacher! That was not always the plan
but it has been an amazing adventure. I teach algebra 1 to 9th grade students and I am very happy.
My ultimate goal/ dream is to open a studio for all ages to explore any and all materials/ techniques/ equipment I have. This includes pottery- with a wheel and kiln; screen printing with TWO presses, one 4 head and one 6 head; film photography with darkroom access; digital photography/ photoshop and drawing/ painting. Ideally there will be classes taught by local artists, including myself. There will be studio access to just have a space to work in/ around and with other people who have the same interests as you. I feel so lucky to have the access I do and ability to create art for a living that I want to share that with others.
